This vigorous hybrid forms a dense, well-branched bush that fits perfectly into vegetable gardens, fruiting hedges, or food forests. Unlike gooseberries, its branches are generally thornless, which makes harvesting easier. In spring, small, discreet greenish flowers appear, attracting pollinating insects and announcing a generous harvest. The fruits, larger than blackcurrants, turn a purplish black when ripe and offer a complex flavor combining the aroma of blackcurrant with a sweeter, slightly tart note reminiscent of gooseberry. The berries are excellent fresh, in jams, jellies, juices, or pastries. The dark green foliage gives off a characteristic aromatic scent when crushed.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Pépinière.ca","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":56855016865952,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"CAD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0655\/3878\/5440\/files\/photo_attendant_f48f51cc-44eb-45be-b80e-46eec1e6fe23.png?v=1749243332","url":"https:\/\/www.pepiniere.ca\/en\/products\/ribes-nidigrolaria-jostaberry-1","provider":"Pépinière.ca","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
