How to Grow:

Bitter cucumber requires special care to germinate and grow effectively. Soak or scarify seeds for optimal germination. Pre-germinate by soaking in warm water for 24 hours or wrapping in a damp cloth in a warm, dark area for 3 to 5 days. Sow indoors 3 weeks before planting out or directly into sunny soil after mid-June when soil reaches 77-95°F. Sow 1 inch deep, space plants 12 inches apart, and support vines with a trellis. Avoid overly wet soil and harvest young fruit for best flavor.

With its attractive foliage and flowers, this plant is as decorative as it is useful, ideal for gardeners looking for an exotic and nutritious crop.
