Sweet Marjoram – Sweet and versatile aromatic leaves

Sweet marjoram seeds produce vigorous plants up to 60 cm tall, with aromatic leaves that have a mild, sweet taste. Ideal for enhancing vinaigrettes, soups, salads and meat dishes, this herb is also known as Pot Marjoram, French Marjoram or Cretan Oregano. Grown as an annual in cooler climates (zones below 7), it is ideal for vegetable gardens or window boxes. With a quick harvest in just 40 days, it is an essential ally for home cooking.

Cultivation method:
Sow seeds directly outdoors in a sunny location and average soil between late May and mid-June. Alternatively, start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date in a soilless mix, maintaining a temperature of 21°C. Seeds will germinate in 7-14 days. After germination, grow seedlings on at a slightly cooler temperature before hardening off and transplanting outdoors once the risk of frost has passed. Sow seeds 6mm deep and space 6mm apart. Once seedlings have emerged, thin to 12.5cm for optimum growth.
