How to Grow
Start seeds indoors 10–12 weeks before your last frost date. Maintain a temperature of 21–24°C for germination in about 3 weeks. After germination, grow seedlings under lights at 16°C, then harden off before transplanting outdoors between mid-May and mid-June. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil with a pH of 6.5 to 7.0. Space plants 15–20 cm apart in rows 90 cm apart. Begin blanching stalks by gradually covering them with soil when they reach 30 cm tall. Regular watering is crucial to ensure even soil moisture for optimal stalk formation.
