Acer × pseudosieboldianum ‘Alpenglow’, or ‘Alpenglow’ hardy maple, is a remarkable northern hybrid that combines the resilience of the Manchurian maple and the elegance of the Japanese maple, while being perfectly adapted to the Quebec climate. Its finely cut, soft green foliage takes on spectacular coral red, pink, and orange hues in autumn, transforming flower beds or shade gardens into true living masterpieces. This small tree with a rounded, compact habit reaches 5 to 7 meters in height, with a width of 3 to 6 meters, integrating well as a specimen tree or in a grove. It flowers in April-May, revealing discreet creamy yellow flowers, and prefers cool, well-drained soil, in an exposure ranging from full sun to partial shade. Thanks to its exceptional hardiness, refined appearance, and striking autumn coloration, the ‘Alpenglow’ maple is a jewel for northern landscape designs.
