Acer × pseudosieboldianum ‘Wabi Sabi’, also known as the Wabi Sabi Maple, is a graceful small ornamental maple with a spreading, gently weeping habit, inspired by Japanese aesthetics. Its finely cut dark green foliage, borne on stems with whitish waxy reflections, is enlivened in spring by very ornamental upright red samaras. In autumn, it boasts a flamboyant mix of red, orange, and yellow, creating a vibrant tableau of warm colors. Its low and wide silhouette (2.1 m x 3 m) makes it an excellent choice for Zen gardens, flowerbeds, or rockeries. This hardy cultivar tolerates full sun to partial shade, adapts to well-drained soils, and is resistant to temperatures as low as -29 °C (zone 5). The 'Wabi Sabi' maple combines texture, structure, and refined simplicity, offering an elegant presence year-round in Nordic landscapes.
