Organic 'Buttercrunch' head lettuce
Organic 'Buttercrunch' head lettuce (Lactuca sativa), offered by the seed company Aimers
This open-pollinated variety of butterhead lettuce forms beautiful, compact heads with thick, crisp, medium to dark green outer leaves. The yellow-white heart is tender, buttery, and mild, offering a very pleasant texture. Prized for its good resistance to bolting, it ensures consistent flavor even when temperatures rise.

Maintain consistent moisture to encourage even growth and thin the plants to about 30 cm apart to form good-sized buds. Harvest before bolting to preserve maximum sweetness.
