This open-pollinated variety of butterhead lettuce forms beautiful, compact heads with thick, crisp, medium to dark green outer leaves. The yellow-white heart is tender, buttery, and mild, offering a very pleasant texture. Prized for its good resistance to bolting, it ensures consistent flavor even when temperatures rise.

Planting and maintenance:
Sow as soon as the soil can be worked in spring, then repeat every two weeks as long as the weather remains cool. Sow approximately 3 mm deep, in rows spaced 45 cm apart or in clumps, in rich, well-drained soil in full sun. Maintain consistent moisture to encourage even growth and thin the plants to about 30 cm apart to form good-sized buds. Harvest before bolting to preserve maximum sweetness.
