Serviceberry Cumulus
Amelanchier laevis ‘Cumulus’ is a hardy, native Quebec small tree, appreciated for its abundant white spring blooms, followed by edible red to purple fruits in summer, which are highly prized by birds. It is distinguished by its naturally slender habit, light and vertical silhouette, and coppery nascent foliage, which then turns medium green before bursting into red, orange, and yellow in the fall. Very well adapted to northern conditions, it is suitable for solitary plantings, informal hedges, or naturalist gardens, and tolerates both full sun and partial shade. ‘Cumulus’ is a versatile ally, both for biodiversity and for its ornamental appeal across three seasons.
