Cultivation method:
Lettuce is a cool weather crop that loves sun and grows best in organic, well-drained soil. Sow as soon as the soil can be worked in spring, then every two weeks to ensure a continuous supply. Sow about 3mm deep in rows 45cm apart.
Consistent moisture throughout the growing season is essential for success. Harvest by pulling the entire plant or cutting the leaves from the main stem 1 inch above the base, allowing the plant to sprout new leaves. Once lettuce bolts, the leaves become bitter. Germination occurs in 7 to 10 days.
