Outdoors, sow or transplant only when all risk of frost has passed . Plant 'Rosie' basil in rich, well-drained soil that remains moist , in full sun , sheltered from the wind – essential conditions for vigorous growth and beautiful foliage color.
Cultivation, harvesting and uses advice
Basil loves warmth and regular, but not excessive, watering . Water when the top 2 to 3 cm of soil is dry. Once the plant reaches about 15 cm , pinch off the tips to encourage branching and remove any flower buds to promote abundant leaf production.
Harvest the leaves as needed , starting with the outer leaves. 'Rosie' basil is delicious fresh, but can also be frozen or dried . July and August are ideal months for stocking up. Colorful, aromatic, and easy to grow , organic red 'Rosie' basil is an excellent choice for those who want to cultivate a decorative, flavorful, and productive herb, from garden to plate.
