Cultivation method:

Pole beans require structures such as trellises, open-mesh fences, netting or bamboo teepees to grow vertically. Be sure to anchor these structures securely to prevent collapse. Plant seeds in light, well-drained, organic soil with a pH of 6.5, 1 inch deep and 3 inches apart. Space rows 18 to 28 inches apart. Maintain regular irrigation, especially during drought. Pods begin to form soon after flowering.
