Borage (Borago officinalis) is a naturalized annual originally from Europe, valued for its self-seeding capabilities. Though not native, it is a beneficial garden plant: it attracts bees, deters pests like sphinx moths, and enriches the soil with trace minerals that benefit neighboring plants. Edible and flavorful, its delicate flowers and leaves are perfect additions to salads and summer drinks.
