A Unique and Impressive Shape
'Caveman's Club' gourd seeds (Lagenaria siceraria), offered by the seed company OSC.
This spectacular variety produces club-shaped fruits that can reach up to 45 cm in length, or even 1 m in areas with long growing seasons. As the gourd dries, it takes on a woody texture that is ideal for artistic creations or decorative uses. The plant grows as a vine and can be trained on a trellis for cleaner fruit. Harvest when the fruit becomes firm and resistant to pressure.

How to grow:
Direct sow seeds in a sunny, well-drained garden from late May to June, 1 inch deep. Create hills 8 feet apart and plant 4–6 seeds per hill. After germination (7–10 days), reduce to 3 plants per hill. You can also start seeds indoors 3 weeks before the last frost in biodegradable pots, transplanting directly. Gourds appreciate rich, well-drained soil with a pH of 5.5–6.5. Protect ripe fruit from frost and cold temperatures.
An ideal gourd for craft projects or to decorate your garden space.
