Chamaedorea cataractarum, commonly known as the waterfall palm or cat palm, is a tropical plant native to the humid areas of southern Mexico and Central America. Prized for its dense, elegant foliage, it is ideal for creating a tropical ambiance in interiors or shaded gardens.

Exposure: Bright indirect light; tolerates partial shade; avoid direct sun which can burn the leaves.

Humidity: Appreciates high ambient humidity (≥55%); ideally placed on a tray of damp pebbles or near a humidifier.
Fertilization:
Soil type: Well-draining soil, rich in organic matter; a mix of houseplant potting soil with perlite or sand is recommended.
Minimum temperature: 10°C (50°F); sensitive to cold and frost.
Flowering period: Spring to summer, but rarely indoors.
