Cultivation method:

Plant seeds in open ground in succession every 2 weeks from June to mid-July to ensure a continuous harvest. Sow 3 mm (1/8 inch) deep and space seeds 2.5 cm (1 inch) apart in rows 40 cm (16 inches) apart. When seedlings are a few centimetres (10 inches) apart, thin them to leave 30 cm (12 inches) between each plant.

Maintain regular watering, as water stress can cause premature bolting and bitter leaves. To prolong the harvest, fall sowing can be attempted in mid to late August. This variety is hardy and adapted to cooler fall temperatures, making it an excellent choice for late harvests.

A tasty and decorative chicory!

Radicchio 'Palla Rossa 2 Hiver' is highly regarded for its compact, round heads and colorful leaves that enhance dishes both visually and tastefully. Its crunchy texture and slightly bitter taste pair perfectly with vinaigrettes, cheeses, and hot dishes. In addition to its culinary versatility, this variety is ideal for gardeners looking to extend their harvest season into the colder months.
