Organic red kale (Brassica oleracea), offered by the seed company Aimers

This heirloom variety produces flat, serrated, grey-green foliage with a prominent purple-red midrib. The color intensifies with the cooler autumn weather, adding significant visual interest to the vegetable garden, while the leaves become softer and more tender after the cold. Highly hardy and productive, it offers a prolonged harvest and excellent winter shelf life.

Planting and maintenance:
Sow in early spring or from June to early July, about 1 cm deep, in rows spaced 60 cm apart, in rich, well-drained soil, in full sun. Thin the seedlings to about 30 cm apart to allow them to develop properly. Water regularly and weed as needed. Harvest the outer leaves as they appear; autumn frosts improve the flavor and extend the harvest period.
