description

Organic Cleome mix (Cleome spinosa) , offered by Les Jardins de l'Écoumène

With its refined flowers in white, pink and pinkish-purple hues, the cleome attracts both eyes and pollinators. Native to the sandy plains and valleys of South America, this majestic annual produces spectacular terminal bouquets. Its flowers with 4 fine petals, with a thorny appearance, have earned it the nickname of thorny cleome or spider flower. Ideal for flower beds, the cleome can reach more than a meter in height, with a well-branched plant that spreads over approximately 45 cm.

Transplant seedlings to the garden once the risk of frost has passed, spacing them 12 to 18 inches (30 to 45 cm) apart. Cleome prefers rich, light, well-drained soil that is consistently moist.

Water regularly, without soaking the soil. This vigorous plant will flower from the end of June until the first frosts, bringing a refined and colorful touch to your flower beds.

The organic cleome mix is perfect for adding height and character to your landscaping. Its delicate flowers and majestic shape make it an essential plant for attracting pollinators and brightening up the garden throughout the season.
