Perfect for Pickling
Corentine Hybrid Cucumber Seeds (Cucumis sativus), offered by OSC Seeds
This early European pickling cucumber is a parthenocarpic hybrid ideal for tunnels or outdoor growing. Corentine produces smooth fruits 10–15 cm long that remain crisp long after harvesting. Its slow seed development makes it perfect for pickling or as a mini cucumber. Robust, vigorous plants yield exceptionally well, even in cooler conditions.

Planting and Care:
Cucumbers thrive in rich, warm, well-drained soil. Amend the soil with compost or manure before planting. Wait until soil temperatures reach 18 °C, as cooler soil can hinder germination. Form mounds 15–20 cm high and 30–60 cm in diameter, spacing them 120 cm apart. Sow 6–8 seeds per mound at a depth of 2 cm, thinning to 3–4 plants after germination (5–10 days). For limited space, train the plants to grow on a trellis for straighter fruits and increased yield. Water consistently to avoid bitter cucumbers caused by stress during hot, dry weather. Harvest using a sharp knife to avoid damaging the vines.
