Hot pepper 'Trinidad Scorpion (Red)' (Trinidad Moruga Scorpion - Capsicum chinense), Offered by Les Gardiens - Ferme Alternative
The Trinidad Moruga Scorpion is one of the most fearsome peppers in the world . Formerly the record holder for the hottest pepper before the arrival of the Carolina Reaper in 2013 , it remains an absolute reference among extreme peppers . Coming from a natural cross , it is much more powerful than the other varieties of its family.
Its appearance is imposing and characteristic , with a bumpy skin and a tip reminiscent of a scorpion's sting . Its floral and fruity aroma could lead one to believe that it is sweet in the mouth, but make no mistake: its sting is hellish .
Its spicy effect does not strike immediately . It starts gently , then increases in intensity , until it becomes a real fiery blaze that settles in for a long time . It is ideal for extreme sauces, ultra-spicy powders or spicy dishes , provided that it is used with caution and reserved for the initiated .
Plant height: Up to 1.2 meters
Spread: Medium
Quantity per bag: ISOLATED - 12 seeds
Scoville (SHU): + 1,200,000
Companion plants: Tomatoes, basil, coriander

Cultivation method:
Sow seeds in early February , about 10 to 12 weeks before the last frost . Germination takes 10 to 20 days , with an ideal temperature between 25 and 30°C . To speed up this process, soak the seeds for 12 to 24 hours before sowing .
Plant them in the ground or in a pot , in rich, well-drained soil , with full sun exposure . Water moderately , as excess moisture can slow growth. Fertilizing every 2 to 3 weeks will ensure abundant production .
Fruits turn from green to bright red when ripe , about 90 to 120 days after pollination.
Pot culture: ideal for extending the harvest
Trinidad Moruga Scorpion grows well in pots, which allows you to extend production by bringing it indoors in the fall. A 10 to 15 liter pot, 6 to 8 hours of sunlight per day , and regular watering will ensure a good harvest even in a confined space .
Use and special features:
With its extreme heat , this pepper is perfect for ultra-hot sauces, powerful seasonings and culinary challenges . It is often mixed with other ingredients to soften its intensity without losing its complex aroma .
?? Warning : This pepper is extremely potent . Wear gloves when handling and avoid contact with eyes and face.
