The 'Blue Marzano' tomato is a unique, early variety , combining delicate purple skin with a rich, complex flavor . Inspired by the famous San Marzano type, it offers a meaty, sweet and fruity flesh, with slightly spicy and sweet notes. Its low seed content makes it an ideal variety for thick sauces, purees and homemade preserves .

Its determined growth makes it an easy plant to grow , reaching a compact size while offering an abundant production . To reveal all its aromatic richness , it is advisable to let the fruits ripen completely on the plant before harvesting.

Cultivation method:

Sow seeds 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost , at an ideal temperature of 22 to 28°C . When the seedlings reach 10 to 15 cm , transplant them into the ground or into a pot after the last frost, spacing them 50 cm apart.

Plant them in rich, well-drained soil , with full sun exposure . Due to its determinate growth , this variety does not require significant pruning , but light staking may be useful to support the weight of the fruits.

The first fruits ripen after 65 to 75 days , guaranteeing a quick and generous harvest .

Pot culture: ideal for small spaces

Thanks to its compact growth , the 'Blue Marzano' tomato is perfect for growing in pots (minimum 15 litres) , requiring sunny exposure and regular watering for optimal production.
