Cultivation method
Seeds can be sown directly in open ground when the temperature is above 23°C , or started indoors 4 to 6 weeks before planting for an early harvest.
Plant in rich, well-drained, slightly moist soil , spacing plants 45 to 85 cm apart. Regular watering is recommended to avoid water stress , which could compromise head formation.
Violetta Italia tolerates cool temperatures and develops its best color in a temperate climate .
Harvesting and conservation
Harvest when the head is well formed and compact , before it begins to detach.
Once picked, cauliflower can be stored for up to 1 to 2 weeks in the refrigerator at 0°C and 95% humidity .
