Organic 'Calypso' Coriander
Organic 'Calypso' coriander (Coriandrum sativum) from the seed company Gaia, a slow-flowering hybrid variety with abundant foliage
'Calypso' coriander forms compact, well-branched plants characterized by dense, bright green , finely cut, and particularly aromatic foliage. Selected for its exceptional resistance to bolting , this hybrid variety maintains its leaf production for a long time, even in hot climates where coriander tends to flower quickly. The leaves are tender, fresh, and intensely fragrant, ideal for continuous harvesting.
Thanks to its balanced shape and regular growth, 'Calypso' coriander is suitable for both open ground and container growing . Frequent harvesting stimulates regrowth and significantly extends the production season, making this variety a reliable choice for gardeners seeking consistent and high leaf yields.

Farming method
Soak the seeds in lukewarm water for up to 12 hours to promote even germination. Sow directly outdoors as soon as the soil is workable, at a depth of 0.6 to 1.2 cm , in loose, cool, and well-drained soil . Space the plants 15 to 20 cm apart and the rows 30 to 45 cm apart to allow for good foliage development.
Coriander prefers partial sun/partial shade (level 2) and regular watering (level 2) . Keeping the soil slightly moist promotes tender leaves and reduces water stress, especially during hot weather.
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest the leaves when they reach about 10 cm in height , regularly trimming the outer stems to encourage regrowth. The leaves are best freshly harvested , as their aroma is most intense immediately after picking. Frequent harvesting helps prolong production before flowering.
