Cultivation method
To improve germination, soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours and scarify lightly before sowing.
Seeds can be started indoors 3-4 weeks before planting out , or directly in the open ground after the last frost . Straight 8 prefers a temperature of 21°C and a rich, loose, well-drained soil .
Space plants 12 to 24 inches apart and rows 24 to 36 inches apart . This variety can be trained on a trellis to save space and promote straighter, easier-to-harvest fruit.
Harvesting and conservation
Cucumbers should be harvested every 1 to 2 days , before they become too large and slow down production.
They can be stored for up to 10 days in the refrigerator , at 10-12°C with 95% humidity .
