The 'Katz Formula' mix combines highly fragrant wallflowers with generous, showy blooms in shades of pink, white, and purple. A cool-season annual (or short-lived perennial), it forms upright flower spikes that add verticality and vibrancy to the garden. Farming method
Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost , or directly outdoors after the last frost. Bury at a depth of 6 mm (1/4″) .
Wallflowers are very susceptible to damping-off : water from the bottom only .
Install in partial sun / partial shade (level 2) with moderate watering (level 2).
Germination in 3 to 20 days between 12 and 18 °C (optimum 15 °C).
Space the plants 28 cm (11″) apart, with 43 cm (17″) between rows.
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest when 1/3 to 1/2 of the flowers on a stem are open , removing most of the foliage.
Wallflowers are a very long-lasting cut flower , lasting up to 10 days if the water in the vase is changed frequently.
