Farming method
Sow indoors 4 to 6 weeks before the last frost. The seeds need light to germinate: scatter them on the surface without covering, at a maximum depth of 1–2 mm . Germination occurs in 7 to 10 days at temperatures between 20 and 29°C , optimum 21–23°C . Pinch off the central stem of the seedlings to encourage branching. Transplant outdoors to full sun (level 3) with moderate watering (level 2). Space plants 30 cm apart and rows 38–45 cm apart.
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest when half the flowers on each stem are open . This early harvest reduces sticky residue and improves the bouquet's hold. Freshly cut flowers release a sweet fragrance in the evening. To dry, hang the stems upside down in a dry, well-ventilated area.
