Farming method
Sow indoors 8 to 10 weeks before planting outdoors, or sow directly outdoors as soon as the soil is workable in spring . Cover the seeds with 3 mm of soil. Germination takes 10 to 14 days at 15–21 °C (optimum 18 °C). Plant in full sun (level 3) with moderate watering (level 2). Space plants 15–30 cm apart and rows 30–45 cm apart. The soil must be well-drained to prevent root diseases.
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest when the flowers are fully open to fully enjoy their fragrance. The petals are edible and can be used to decorate desserts. Regular picking encourages blooming. The flowers can be dried for small bouquets or to preserve their scent.
