Farming method
Perform a two-week cold stratification before sowing. Sow directly outdoors in early spring , even if frost persists, as transplanting is not recommended. Place the seeds 3 mm deep and space the plants 15 to 20 cm apart, with 30 to 35 cm between rows. Germination occurs in 14 to 21 days at an ideal temperature of 12°C . Plant in full sun (level 3) and maintain light watering (level 1).
Harvesting and preservation
Double flowers are especially prized in the garden, but can also be cut very fresh. The seed pods that follow can be dried for floral arrangements. Leave a few heads in place to encourage self-seeding .
