Farming method
Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before planting time . Sow seeds 3–6 mm (1/8–1/4") deep in light potting mix at 23–29 °C for germination in 5–10 days . Reduce watering and nitrogen during hardening off to develop a compact, sturdy plant.
Transplant when there is no longer a risk of frost. Space plants 60 to 90 cm (24–36") apart or grow in 3-gallon pots or larger . Provide full sun , regular watering (level 3) , and staking , even if the plant is dwarf, as the fruits are heavy and plentiful.
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest when the fruit is a uniform deep golden orange and yields slightly to pressure. To get a head start, pick as soon as the first blush appears, then let it ripen off the vine at 22°C or higher . Store the fruit between 12–21°C , at 95% relative humidity , to preserve its juiciness.
