Organic 'Fire Artisan' Tomato
Organic 'Fire Artisan' tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) from the seed company Gaia, a red and yellow striped tomato with a lively, fruity and surprisingly meaty flavor
The 'Fire Artisan' tomato is a freely pollinated variety with a flamboyant appearance and brilliant flavor. Indeterminate and vigorous, it produces long, pasta-like tomatoes in about 80 days , but these surprise with their meaty, juicy flesh reminiscent of beefsteaks , much like the renowned Speckled Roman , with which it shares a similar character. Its red skin striped with yellow offers more than just spectacular visual appeal: it promises a vibrant, fruity, generous, and absolutely delicious tomato.
Perfect for salads, snacks, light dips, and summer dishes, 'Fire Artisan' brings a touch of sun-kissed warmth to the plate—not fiery, but comforting with its rich, slightly sweet, and aromatic flavor. The productive vines ensure an abundant harvest throughout the season.

Farming method
Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before planting out . Bury the seeds 3–6 mm (1/8–1/4") deep in a light potting mix and maintain a temperature of 23–29 °C for germination in 5 to 10 days . Reduce watering and nitrogen during the acclimatization period to ensure strong seedlings.
Transplant when all risk of frost has passed. Space plants 60 to 90 cm (24–36") apart, with 120 to 180 cm (4–6') between rows. Provide full sun , regular watering (level 3) , and sturdy staking , essential due to the elongated fruit load.
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest when the skin fully displays its red and yellow stripes . To hasten the harvest, pick the fruit showing its first color , then let it ripen off the vine at 22°C or above . Store between 12–21°C , at 95% relative humidity , to preserve its fleshy texture.
