Organic 'Gajo De Melon' Tomato
Organic 'Gajo de Melon' tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) from the seed company Gaia, a large, early cherry tomato, juicy and cheerful, somewhere between salad and steak.
The 'Gajo de Melon' tomato is a stunning and delicious heirloom variety, renowned for its earliness and continuous production from the first fruit. Indeterminate and vigorous, it produces large cherry tomatoes —too big to eat in one bite—that fall somewhere between a cherry and a small beefsteak, with a juiciness and richness rarely seen in this type of fruit. Their bright, cheerful skin, with a slightly bicolored appearance, is reminiscent of a melon, although the interior remains uniformly yellow without any red.
Highly productive and easy to grow, 'Gajo de Melon' offers excellent texture and a sweet, sunny and refreshing flavor, perfect for salads, snacks, tomato platters and summer preparations.

Farming method
Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before planting out . Plant the seeds 3–6 mm (1/8–1/4") deep in a light potting mix and maintain a temperature of 23–29°C , which allows germination in 5 to 10 days . During the hardening-off period, reduce watering and nitrogen application to produce strong seedlings.
Transplant after all risk of frost has passed. Space plants 60–90 cm (24–36") apart, leaving 120–180 cm (4–6') between rows. Provide full sun (level 3) and regular watering (level 3) . Sturdy staking is essential to support the indeterminate growth and abundant fruit.
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest when the fruit shows a bright melon-yellow color and becomes slightly soft. To accelerate ripening, pick those that have already begun to color , then let them finish ripening off the vine at 22°C or above . Store at 12–21°C with 95% relative humidity.
