Farming method

Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before planting out. Bury seeds 3–6 mm (1/8–1/4") deep in light potting mix at 23–29 °C for germination in 5 to 10 days . During hardening off, reduce water and nitrogen to strengthen the seedlings.

Transplant when all risk of frost has passed. Space plants 60 to 90 cm (24 to 36") apart in the ground, or grow them in pots (minimum 3 gallons). Provide full sun (level 3) , regular watering (level 3), and light staking , even if the plant remains compact.

Harvesting and preservation

Harvest when the fruit reaches its mature green color with slight amber or golden hues. To get a head start, pick those showing their first signs of color , then let them ripen off the vine at 22°C or above . Store them between 12–21°C , at 95% relative humidity , to maintain their freshness.
