Organic 'Green Grape' tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) from the seed company Gaia, a green-yellow cherry tomato in abundant clusters, sweet, tangy and deliciously refreshing

The 'Green Grape' tomato is a unique heirloom variety that delights with its small, 2.5 cm (1") green-yellow fruits , clustered in bunches of 6 to 12 , irresistibly reminiscent of table grapes. Indeterminate, vigorous, and highly productive, it offers a generous harvest of sweet, slightly tangy, juicy tomatoes with few seeds. Its pleasant and refreshing flavor makes it a perfect variety for colorful salads, summer snacks, and tasting platters.

'Green Grape' grows easily, sometimes even in a slightly untidy fashion, which is part of its natural charm. It adapts remarkably well to hot, dry climates, including desert environments, while maintaining excellent productivity.

Farming method

Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before planting out . Sow seeds 3–6 mm (1/8–1/4") deep in a light potting mix and maintain a temperature of 23–29°C for rapid germination (5–10 days). Reduce watering and nitrogen during hardening off to develop hardy seedlings.

Transplant once all risk of frost has passed. Space plants 60 to 90 cm (24 to 36 inches) apart, with 120 to 180 cm (4 to 6 feet) between rows. Provide full sun (level 3) , regular watering (level 3) , and install sturdy staking , which is necessary to support its indeterminate and sometimes unruly growth.

Harvesting and preservation

Harvest when the fruit is a bright yellow-green and slightly soft. To advance the harvest, pick those showing their first color , then let them ripen off the vine at 22°C or above . Store the fruit at 12–21°C , under 95% relative humidity , to preserve its sweetness.
