The 'Pink Icicle' tomato is a remarkable heirloom variety, developed in the former Soviet Union, whose meticulous selection has given rise to a true horticultural masterpiece. Farming method

Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost. Plant seeds 3–6 mm (1/8–1/4") deep in a light, warm potting mix. Maintain a temperature of 23–29°C to encourage rapid germination, usually in 5 to 10 days . Reduce watering and nitrogen during hardening off to produce strong seedlings well-prepared for outdoor growth.

Transplant when all risk of frost has passed. Space plants 60 to 90 cm (24 to 36 inches) apart and leave 120 to 180 cm (4 to 6 feet) between rows. Provide full sun (level 3) , regular watering (watering level 3) , and sturdy staking , as the elongated fruits can become numerous and heavy.

Harvesting and preservation

Harvest when the fruits are a bright, glossy pink , a sign of optimal ripeness. To bring forward the harvest, pick tomatoes that have shown their first color , then let them ripen off the vine at 22°C or higher . Store them between 12 and 21°C with 95% relative humidity to preserve their firm texture and sweetness.

Usage ideas

• Exceptional in fresh salsas , thanks to its mildness and firm texture
• Perfect for preserves and pink sauces , where its vibrant color is well retained
• Delicious to eat raw in the garden , sweet and aromatic
• Ideal for roasted or confit dishes , further concentrating its flavor

The 'Pink Icicle' tomato is a true success story of traditional breeding: original, generous, refined, and irresistibly sweet. An essential heritage variety for gardeners seeking an exceptional pink-fleshed tomato that is as beautiful as it is delicious.
