Organic 'Venus' Tomato
Organic 'Venus' tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) from the seed company Gaia, a sweet orange micro-dwarf perfect for pots and small spaces
The 'Venus' tomato is a micro-dwarf heirloom variety, developed by Thompson & Morgan Seeds, designed to produce abundant yields on a miniature plant only 15 to 20 cm (6 to 8") tall. Despite its small size, it produces numerous small, round, orange tomatoes with a sweet and pleasant flavor. It is an ideal variety for growing in pots, window boxes, on windowsills, patios, or even indoors under lights. Its incredibly compact growth habit makes it perfectly suited for gardeners with limited space or for educational projects.
Despite its miniature size, 'Venus' is an indeterminate variety: it therefore continues to flower and produce as long as conditions are favorable.

Farming method
Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost. Place the seeds 3–6 mm (1/8–1/4") deep in fine potting soil and maintain a temperature between 23 and 29 °C for optimal germination (5 to 10 days). Reduce watering and nitrogen application during hardening off to produce compact, sturdy seedlings.
Transplant into small containers or decorative pots after all risk of frost has passed. Even though the plant is indeterminate, its dwarf habit means it generally does n't need staking or only minimal support. Provide full sun (level 3) and regular watering (watering level 3).
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest the fruit when it has turned a beautiful, uniform orange color. To get an earlier harvest, pick as soon as the first hint of orange appears and let it ripen above 22°C. Store the fruit between 12 and 21°C with a relative humidity of around 95%.
