Farming method

Sow seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost date. Plant 3 to 6 mm (1/8 to 1/4") deep in light potting soil and maintain a temperature between 23 and 29°C for optimal germination (5 to 10 days). During hardening off, slightly reduce watering and nitrogen application to produce more compact and robust seedlings.

Transplant when all risk of frost has passed. Space plants 60 to 90 cm (24 to 36") apart in rows 120 to 180 cm (4 to 6'). Provide full sun (sun level 3) and regular watering (watering level 3). Due to its indeterminate growth habit, this variety requires good staking or a vertical support system.

Harvesting and preservation

Harvest when the fruit has fully developed its striped yellow color. To get a head start, pick the fruit when it begins to show its first color, then let it ripen off the vine at 22°C or higher. Store between 12 and 21°C with a relative humidity of around 95%.
