Cultivation method

Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before planting out, then transplant to open ground after the last frost , when night temperatures are above 12°C . Plant 3-6 mm (1/8-1/4") deep , spacing plants 60-90 cm (24-36") apart and rows 120-180 cm (4-6') . This variety grows very vigorously and requires a trellis or sturdy stake.

? Tip : Can be grown in pots on a balcony or terrace , in a container of at least 20 L (5 gallons) for optimal production

Harvesting and storage

Harvest tomatoes when they reach their full orange colour with red and yellow stripes . For best flavour, allow them to ripen directly on the vine. If necessary, they can be picked when they start to change colour and left to ripen at 22°C off the vine.

After harvesting, store them at room temperature , away from direct sunlight. Avoid refrigeration, as this alters their texture and taste. To extend their shelf life, place them in a cool place (12-21°C) with a relative humidity of 95% . A good method is to place them stem side down on a tray , without them touching, to avoid premature deterioration.

Long-term preservation methods

Freezing ? whole or cut, ideal for sauces and soups
Drying ? sliced and dehydrated for tasty snacks or toppings
Preserves ? marinated in olive oil with herbs, made into a sauce or coulis

With its vibrant colors, crack resistance and incomparable sweet taste , the 'Sunrise Bumblebee ' cherry tomato is a perfect choice for a colorful and flavorful vegetable garden.
