Common name
Sabine juniper 'Calgary Carpet'
Type

Juniperus sabina 'Calgary Carpet' is an extremely dense, low-growing groundcover juniper, selected in Canada for its exceptional winter hardiness and consistent habit. Its very spreading growth, significantly wider than tall, forms a uniform carpet of dark green foliage with bluish highlights, providing excellent ground coverage without gaps or undesirable upright growth. Ideal for embankments, rockeries, sloped borders, or landscaping requiring very low-growing vegetation, it adapts perfectly to northern climates. Its moderate growth allows for progressive yet controlled coverage, and its evergreen foliage remains attractive even in winter. 'Calgary Carpet' tolerates drought, poor soils, and sunny exposures well, while requiring very little maintenance. It is a reliable landscaping solution for effectively covering large areas with understated elegance.
