This stunning purple heirloom variety, grown since before 1860, features a white, crispy, and mildly sweet interior. Enjoy its nutty flavor raw or a subtle cabbage taste when cooked. Excellent as a companion plant for cucumbers, it withstands considerable frost. Harvest as early as 6–8 weeks after sowing, or when stems reach 5–7.5 cm in diameter.

How to Grow:
Direct sow seeds outdoors from late April to late July, at a depth of 1 cm and spaced 2.5 cm apart. Leave 30–45 cm between rows. Once seedlings emerge, thin to 10 cm in the row. Keep the soil well-watered for optimal growth. Seeds germinate in 7–10 days. For a continuous harvest, sow seeds every two weeks from April to early August.

Perfect for easy growing and a tasty, nutritious addition to your meals!
