Ligustrum vulgare 'Cheyenne', commonly known as 'Cheyenne' privet, is a deciduous to semi-evergreen shrub highly valued for its exceptional hardiness and its ability to form dense, structured hedges. This selection, particularly well-suited to cold climates, develops a compact, rounded bush with medium green, slightly glossy foliage. The small, oval leaves densely cover the branches, allowing for a quick and effective plant screen when planted as a hedge. In early summer, small, creamy-white flowers grouped in panicles appear, emitting a light fragrance while attracting pollinators. These are sometimes followed by small, decorative purplish-black berries that are appreciated by birds. Very tolerant and easy to prune, this shrub thrives in ordinary soils, urban pollution, and regular pruning.
