Cultivation method:
Lettuce is a cool weather crop that loves sun and grows best in organic, well-drained soil. Sow as soon as the soil can be worked in spring, then every two weeks thereafter to ensure a continuous supply. Sow about 3mm deep in rows 45cm apart. Maintain an even supply of moisture throughout growth. Harvest by pulling the whole plant or cutting the leaves 2.5cm above the base to allow for regrowth. Once lettuce bolts, it develops a flower stalk, and the leaves become bitter. Germination in 7-10 days.
