Lonicera caerulea 'Honey Bee', known as 'Honey Bee' haskap, is a deciduous fruiting shrub renowned both for its berry production and its important role as an excellent pollinator for several other haskap varieties. This vigorous variety forms a dense, rounded bush with medium-green foliage that fits easily into fruit gardens and northern vegetable patches. In spring, small creamy white flowers appear very early in the season and attract numerous pollinators. These are followed by elongated dark blue berries covered with a waxy bloom. The fruits have a sweet, slightly tart flavor reminiscent of blueberries and are delicious fresh, in jams, or in desserts. Very hardy and reliable, this haskap grows easily in well-drained soil and full sun.
