Lonicera caerulea 'Indigo Treat'
Lonicera caerulea 'Indigo Treat', also known as 'Indigo Treat' honeyberry, is a deciduous fruit shrub with an upright, compact habit, recognized for its great hardiness and early production. In spring, it is covered with small, creamy white flowers resistant to late frosts, followed in early summer by an abundance of elongated dark blue fruits. Very productive, Lonicera caerulea 'Indigo Treat' offers a uniform harvest suitable for both fresh consumption and processing. Its bluish-green foliage forms a dense mass, ideal for a fruit hedge or an edible bed. It prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained, slightly fertile soil. An excellent variety for northern gardens, it requires the presence of another compatible cultivar for optimal pollination.
