Malus domestica 'Northland'

Latin name
Malus domestica Nortland
Common name
Apple 'Nortland'
Type
Fruit tree
Family
Rosaceae

Malus domestica 'Norland' is a very hardy apple tree resulting from Canadian selections, perfectly suited to northern regions like Quebec. It produces medium-sized, red-striped apples with white, fine, juicy, and sweet flesh, excellent for fresh consumption, compotes, and pies. Its slow growth and balanced rounded habit make it an ideal tree for residential orchards and small landscape spaces, with a moderate height and width of 5 meters. Its white spring blossoms attract bees and pollinators, but like most apple trees, 'Norland' is self-sterile: a second compatible apple variety must be planted nearby to ensure good pollination. Grown in full sun and well-drained soil, it combines hardiness, reliability, and quality fruit, while requiring little maintenance.
