Farming method
Sow directly outdoors once the soil has warmed up and all risk of frost has passed. The ideal soil temperature is between 15 and 21°C . Choose a sunny location (level 3) in rich, loose, and well-drained soil.
Form mounds spaced 1.5 to 1.8 m apart, then sow 2 to 3 seeds per mound at a depth of 2.5 cm . Lightly press down the soil, water gently and maintain constant moisture during germination, which usually occurs in 5 to 12 days .
After germination, thin the seedlings to keep only the strongest plant per mound. Regular watering, equivalent to 5 cm of water per week , is recommended, especially during periods of growth and fruit formation.
For an earlier harvest, seedlings can be started indoors 3 to 4 weeks before the last frost , then transplanted after good hardening.
Harvesting and preservation
Spaghetti squash matures between 75 and 100 days after sowing. Harvest when the skin is firm and the color is uniformly yellow. Allow the fruits to dry for a few days after harvesting, then store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place. This variety stores very well for several months.
