Organic Italian parsley (Petroselinum crispum) from McKenzie Seeds, dark green flat-leaf parsley, tasty and versatile
Organic Italian parsley , also known as flat-leaf parsley, is an essential aromatic herb with smooth, finely divided, dark green leaves . The leaves are broad , flat , and highly aromatic , offering a supple texture ideal for use fresh or dried. This variety develops a dense, even clump that is easy to harvest as needed. Its growth is gradual, but once established, it becomes very productive.
Prized for its robust flavor , more pronounced than that of curly parsley, it withstands cooking well and retains its aroma. It is perfect for herb gardens , whether planted directly in the ground or in containers 30 cm (12 inches) or larger. Safe for bees and attractive to certain pollinators , it integrates naturally into organic vegetable gardens. This biennial plant tolerates light frost , thus extending the harvest period.

Farming method
Sow directly in the garden once all risk of frost has passed and the soil temperature is below 21°C . To speed up germination, soak the seeds for 12 to 24 hours before sowing. Sow at a depth of approximately 6 mm, gently firm the soil, and water lightly. Space rows 30 cm apart.
Keep the soil consistently moist during germination, which can take 10 to 28 days . Grow in full sun or partial shade , with regular watering of 2.5 to 5 cm (1 to 2 inches) per week. For an earlier harvest, start seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost, then harden them off before transplanting. Thin to 15 cm (6 inches) between plants.
Harvesting and preservation
Harvesting begins around 75 days . Prioritize cutting the outer stems to encourage continuous regrowth . Regular harvesting helps maintain dense and flavorful foliage.
Parsley can be kept in the refrigerator for a few days, or can be dried or frozen for extended use while retaining its flavor.
