Farming method
Parsley can be sown directly in the garden once the soil has warmed up and all risk of frost has passed , or started indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost for an earlier harvest. As parsley seeds are slow to germinate , it is strongly recommended to soak them overnight in room-temperature water before sowing.
Sow at a depth of 6 mm , gently press down the soil, and water with a fine mist . Keep the soil consistently moist , but not waterlogged, during germination, which can take 10 to 28 days . Plant in a location receiving 6 to 8 hours of sunlight , in full sun or partial shade .
When the plants have developed 2 to 3 pairs of leaves , thin them out to maintain a spacing of approximately 15 cm between plants, with rows spaced 30 cm apart. Parsley grows well in containers , provided there is good drainage and regular watering.
Harvesting and maintenance
Harvesting typically begins about 75 days after sowing . Pick the leaves as needed , starting with the outermost leaves to encourage continuous regrowth. Regular watering, equivalent to 2.5 to 5 cm of water per week , will maintain tender and aromatic foliage.
Usage ideas
'Moss Curled' parsley is perfect as a fresh garnish , but also for flavoring soups, sauces, salads, and stews . It freezes very well , retaining its color and flavor after thawing.
McKenzie's organic 'Moss Curled' parsley is a reliable, decorative and versatile variety , ideal for gardeners looking for parsley that is easy to grow , attractive and useful in the kitchen throughout the season.
