'Red Ace' beetroot prefers light, well-worked, slightly sandy soil with a pH of 6.0 or higher, enriched with compost or well-rotted manure.
Growing tips
Regular growth is essential to maintain the softness and color of the roots. Prolonged periods of drought followed by heavy rain can alter the color and toughen the roots; consistent, moderate watering helps prevent this stress. Well-prepared soil, free of stones and large clods, promotes the development of well-formed, uniform roots.
Harvesting and uses
The roots can be harvested young, as soon as they reach about half their final size, for a particularly tender texture. Harvested later, they remain flavorful if growing conditions have been well managed. Sweet, smooth, and versatile , the 'Red Ace' beetroot is a reliable choice in the vegetable garden, offering both high-quality roots and prized edible foliage, from garden to kitchen.
