Basil Seeds 'Large Genova Green' (Ocimum basilicum) – offered by WH Perron

Basil 'Grand Vert' is a classic organic variety and highly prized for its intense fragrance and versatility in the kitchen. Its large green leaves are ideal for enhancing salads, sauces, pestos and Mediterranean dishes. This herbaceous plant is easy to grow and adapts equally well to growing in pots or in the ground. Robust and adapted to warm climates, it brings a touch of freshness and aroma to any vegetable garden or urban garden.

Plant height : 40 to 60 cm
Spread : 30 cm
Quantity per packet : 100 seeds
Companion plants : Ground cherry, okra, tomato, pepper, chili pepper, eggplant
Enemy plants : Potato

Cultivation method :

Sow seeds indoors from March to April in a warm, bright location. Transplant young plants to the garden or into pots when the risk of frost has passed, usually in late May .

Prefer rich, well-drained, slightly moist soil for optimal growth.

Place basil in full sun to encourage abundant leaf production. Harvest regularly, pinching off leaves at the base to encourage branching and delay flowering. To prolong its use, store leaves fresh, dried, or frozen.

Add 'Grand Vert' basil to your garden to enjoy fresh, intense flavors all season long and enrich your dishes with a Mediterranean touch.
