Dill is an essential annual herb for flavoring pickles , vinegars , fish dishes , salads, vegetables, and egg recipes. The Mammoth variety forms tall, elegant plants, 60 to 75 cm , with finely cut, highly aromatic foliage . Easy to grow and often self-seeds , it also attracts many beneficial insects such as ladybugs, lacewings, hoverflies, and parasitic wasps, naturally improving the health of the garden.

Planting and maintenance:
Sow directly in full sun in light, loose, well-drained soil. Cover the seeds very lightly, as they need light to germinate well. Thin to 20–25 cm apart once the seedlings are established. Water regularly, but avoid waterlogging. Allow some umbels to go to seed if you wish to encourage natural self-seeding. Harvest the young leaves for optimal flavor, or harvest the mature seeds for preserving.
