description
Large pinkish squash, sweet and perfect for preserving
Winter squash “Jumbo Pink Banana” ( Cucurbita maxima ), offered by OSC Seeds
This squash impresses with its smooth, salmon-pink skin and sweet, fine-grained , yellow-orange flesh. The elongated, banana-shaped fruits are at their best around 50 x 15 cm , but can reach 80 cm or more when left on the vine. A robust and highly productive variety, it makes an excellent storage squash when kept in a cool, dark place.
Propagation: Indoor sowing or direct sowing in late spring
Height/Habit: Creeping vines
Package size: Approximately 25 seeds

Planting and maintenance:
Sow indoors 2 to 3 weeks before the last frost or directly outdoors when the soil is warm. Provide full sun and rich, loose, well-drained soil. Allow plenty of space: the vines are vigorous and spread out. Water deeply but not excessively to prevent rot. Harvest when the skin hardens and the fruit turns a ripe salmon-pink .
